this was the task of a long-standing BRELOG import customer in January 2018. In order to establish a further alternative for the sensitive electronic components in addition to the options sea freight and air freight, the supply chains of sea and air freight were compared with those of rail transport.

A lead time saving of about ten days from China to Southern Germany with regular cut offs turned out to be the optimal option, which significantly reduces air freight costs in the same step. The LCL routing of shipments from Wuhan to Hamburg now complements the solution portfolio – for all BRELOG customers.

The latest FCL rail transports from Germany to China also proved reliable and stable.
